Try a virtual pour over brewing class with Columbia Street Roastery

Back in the spring, Columbia Street Roastery launched a virtual cupping class, giving budding coffee connoisseurs the opportunity to experience their popular event from the comfort of their homes. Now, just in time for holiday gift giving, they’ve added a virtual V60 Coffee Brewing Class

This Zoom class with John Herriott will take you through the process of making a cup of coffee with a V60 Hario pour over kit, while testing out different ratios of hot water to coffee.

I did a test run with Herriott, and found it a great way to discover just how concentrated I like my coffee. I’m an “eyeballer” when it comes to making my drip coffee, so bringing math into the process was a new and informative experience. It gives you a more precise way to describe how you like your brew.

All you need to do is order the kit; with the V60 Hario for $35 or just the coffee for $15. The coffee comes in three premeasured packets, all various ratios of Ethiopian Washed. Once you’ve purchased, Herriott will reach out to set up your session.
