Last week, agriculture students at Parkland planted one of the fields that is part of United Way of Champaign County’s Farmers Feeding Families program. Part of 80 acres of land they rent from Unit 4, and five acres donated by Litania Sports, the sale of the corn and beans produced will help fund United Way’s grants for local hunger and nutrition programs.

According to their website, the program has allowed them to increase their grants by 37%.
