The United Way of Champaign County Community Essentials initiative funds programs that are working to meet our community’s most basic needs: food, housing, healthcare, clean water, and access to technology.

They’ve announced a request for proposals to award $600,000 worth of grant funding to those local programs. Important info to know:

  • United Way grants support the best approaches and strategies to achieve the goal and solve our community’s toughest problems.
  • This is a competitive grant process. Not all applicants may recieve a grant.
  • Our review panel is looking for strong alignment with United Way’s community essentials definition and ability to report on the Output Metrics. We also look for evidence-based approaches, strategic partnerships, commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, program sustainability, and effectiveness.
  • Anticipated grant award range is $10,000 – $50,000

The grant portal will close on April 18th. You can access the portal, as well as find detailed information on eligibiilty and recorded information sessions at United Way’s website
