Uniting Pride is hosting a Rally for Queer and Trans Youth Autonomy on Friday

The rally is part of a nationwide initiative from Queer Youth Assemble. There will be marches and rallies across the U.S., and this will be the only one in downstate Illinois. The event will “center LGBTQ+ youth under 25 in their fight for autonomy, safety, respect, and a seat at the table.” The rally will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the entrance to the chapel at McKinley Church at 5th and John.

LGBTQ+ youth leaders, local officials, and community members will speak, and LGBTQ+ youth are encourage to speak as well. You can email [email protected] if that is you, and you are interested.
