Urbana-Champaign Books to Prisoners is hosting its first-ever virtual auction and raffle. The event will run Monday, February 22nd through Saturday, March 6th. Items include donations from local businesses, artists, and more.
Proceeds from this event will help U-C Books to Prisoners fulfill its mission to provide free books to people incarcerated in Illinois and to promote education about incarceration. Since its inception, U-C Books to Prisoners has sent more than 161,000 books to people incarcerated in Illinois. In addition to mailing books across the state, we operate two lending libraries in the Champaign County jails. U-C Books to Prisoners is a project of the IMC, and an almost entirely volunteer-run organization.
