Feel the need to do something after the terrible events of Sunday night? The local Moms Demand Action group is hosting a vigil tonight to grieve the victims of the tragedy in Las Vegas and encourage action against gun violence. The event will take place in front of Big Grove Tavern at the corner of Main and Neil from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Here is their statement from the Facebook event:
Join Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and concerned community members to mourn those lost to our nation’s largest mass shooting as well as those lost every day in Illinois and across the nation to gun violence. Speakers will address the issue of gun violence and how we all can take action to make our communities safer. Americans shouldn’t have to worry about being shot at outdoor concerts, movie theaters, elementary schools, churches and nightclubs. We don’t have to live like this.
