Watson’s expanding hours to include lunch starting October 10th

Watson’s in Downtown Champaign rolled out lunch on Fridays back in March, and a menu that went with it — and now you can get lunch Tuesday through Saturday, as they open at 11 a.m.

Check out the fall menu below, as well as the full press release that discusses the updates to the hours.

Watson’s reveals new hours starting October 10th—includes lunch!

Champaign, Illinois – October 3rd, 2017.

On October 10th, 2017 Watson’s Shack & Rail, LLC will be expanding their hours of operation to include the lunch hour on Tuesdays – Saturdays. There will be a brand new “All Day” menu available during the new hours, with a special menu available for Sunday Brunch only.

The new hours of operation will be from 11 AM to 10 PM on Tuesday through Thursday, 11 AM to 2 AM on both Friday and Saturday, and 11 AM to 9 PM on Sunday’s. The kitchen will remain open at all times with the exception of a brief window between 2 PM – 4 PM on Sundays—the full service bar will not close during that time.

Watson’s has been open for dinner, late night, and brunch since February of 2016 and have been serving lunch on Fridays since May of 2017. They serve a pickle-brined chicken, lightly breaded and then fried in a non-GMO sunflower oil. They also serve spit-roasted chicken which has a more citrusy brine and is seasoned with ancho chile, garlic, and oregano. For the more adventurous, try their version of Nashville Hot Chicken, a spicy fried chicken tossed in a cayenne-based sauce. They complement their chicken with seasonal sides, salads, and their delicious Watson’s Rice Bowl. They also feature a full service bar with housemade craft cocktails, Adult Slushies, and craft beers and spirits.

Watson’s is led by a team of local talent including 40 under 40 recipient Sean Baird, Roland Realty’s Alec Gillespie, and their resident guru Mark “Shades” Hartstein. They are in year two of their venture and have become a staple of the budding downtown foodie scene.
