Well, in a discussion with some folks, I agreed that now might not be the time to be so critical of Steak n’ Shake, one of Roger Ebert’s most beloved burger joints in the world. The company is a good one, as evidenced by their support of Ebertfest, and their long commitment to the Midwest.
So, feel free to discuss burgers and editorial decisions right here. I can take it. It should be noted, however, that this was a personal decision, and not one that was endorsed by the whole of Smile Politely, its editorial board, or its writers. This one is on me, and me alone.
