Murals are probably my favorite form of public visual art. They take up space, demand attention, and are used for many purposes: political statements, personal artistic expression, or just to look really cool or aesthetically pleasing.

Champaign-Urbana has a lot of great murals. Last year, the Boneyard Arts !nitiative put up a bunch around campustown, including this one by artist Nychos:

I’m on the hunt for the best of the best, the weirdest, or whatever catches your eye around Champaign-Urbana. Put your favorite murals in the Facebook and Instagram comments, or send me an email to let me know which pieces of public art you think deserve more attention.
