Strawberry Fields and World Harvest are both owned by Mohammad Al-Heeti, longtime Champaign-Urbana resident and businessman. Al-Heeti acquired Strawberry Fields a few years ago, and now it has been announced that World Harvest will be integrated into Strawberry Fields’ location at 306 W. Springfield in Urbana.
Per the City of Urbana’s Business & Development report:
STRAWBERRY FIELDS
Strawberry Fields owner Mohammad Al-Heeti will consolidate World Harvest Foods into the Strawberry Fields location, expanding Strawberry Fields’ international offerings and maintaining the popular cafe. Mr. Al-Heeti will utilize both names for the consolidated business.
While there hasn’t been any formal announcement made, we’ll keep you posted about any updates/statements from either store. It remains to be seen what will become of World Harvest’s location on 519 E University in Champaign.
