You need to eat this maple almond cinnamon roll donut

This maple almond cinnamon donut from Ye Olde Donut was so good, I had to go back for a second one.

On a pale blue plate, there is a frosted donut with slivered almonds on top. The plate is on a wooden butcher block counter in front of a white wall. Photo by Alyssa Buckley.Photo by Alyssa Buckley.

With a sweet maple frosting and a crinkly glazed exterior, this donut ($2.68 with tax) looked like a regular frosted donut, but it was not a regular donut. This was a donut that did something with its life. Elevated beyond reguar donuts, this frosted donut had a fluffy yeast middle swirled into a circle with cinnamon specks in between. There was no hole in this donut.

Gaze upon this beautiful underside.

It was everything I wanted in a donut and more. The best bite had the soft, fresh donut with a crunch from the almond slivers, sweetness from the maple frosting, and flakes of the glaze. This donut was on point when I had mine on Saturday morning, and if you find yourself needing a morning pick me up, this maple almond cinnamon roll donut would do it.
