They’ll also go as far as to dress up like said acts and parade around, just for your amusement. This is one of the most fun local music events to occur every year, so you’d better not miss it. Check out the event page for the full lineup and more info. (JM)

SATURDAY, January 21st

Women’s March on C-U, West Side Park + Downtown Champaign, 11 a.m.

This is a very important time in our country, considering the walking-talking-meme that is about to go into the most powerful office in the world. Participate in the localized version of the Women’s March that is taking place in DC here in C-U. Here’s the Facebook event for the most up to date information about the program. (PS)

Epic Grilled Cheese Tasting, Harvest Market 2029 S. Neil St., Champaign, 5-7 p.m., $5 entry, + apps & beer

Since you did all that walking in the cold at the women’s march on C-U, it’s the perfect time to indulge in some warm, melty comfort food. On the 2nd floor of the Harvest Market will be an instructional course with recipes and demonstrations for four different kinds of grilled cheese. The cheese monger will be present, and there will be beer pairing tips from Triptych. (RK)

Girls Rock! C-U Benefit House Concert, Tjarks Cafe, 6:30 p.m., $5 – $7 suggested donation suggested

Girls Rock! C-U is a pretty kickass organization, and there are some swell folks in the area that have been putting together shows to help GR!CU gain some momentum and makes things happen. This show’s acts range from R&B to emo to folk, all playing to support women in music. Support the cause and catch some good tunes at the same time. (JM)

SUNDAY, January 22nd
