Jamestown, New York musician Christopher Bell is playing a house show in Urbana tonight at 8 p.m. The venue is known as the Anthill, and it’s located at 107 N. Coler. Here’s the Craigslist announcement.
Why should you care? A fair question. Mr. Bell has traveled from northeast Ohio to central Illinois with Joel Murray exclusively by bicycle, playing shows along the way. His tour will be concluding in Chicago later this week.
I interviewed Chris in early March (when he came through town — by car — for a Shadowboxer show) about his canoe tour of the Erie Canal last summer. He has a little-brother quality that makes his music very endearing. It’s a free show, BYOB, Rob Jacobs and Dr. Responsible are also playing, and a donation of $3-5 is suggested.
