It appears that Mr. McClain has turned himself in. He is being charged with failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death.
Police have also released the name of Mr. McClain’s alleged victims: Nannan Jiang, Syed Mohammad Nourbakhish, Ling Ling Sun, Yun Bai and Yingbo Zhou, the lone fatality. Zhou was a graduate student in the UIUC’s GSLIS program where she served as president of the Chinese Group. The other four victims have either been treated and released, or are in fair to good condition at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

After a fatal hit and run accident last night on I-74, police are seeking Champaign County resident, David McClain. McClain is the owner of the 2002 Cadillac Escalade that took the life of an unnamed victim who has been identified by a confidential source as a student in the University of Illinois Graduate School of Library and Information Science.
