Two U of I athletes nominated for ESPY Awards

The ESPY Awards, or ESPYs, are annual awards presented by ESPN to recognize athletes for their achievements over the past year. This year, two University of Illinois athletes have been nominated for awards.

Tatyana McFadden has been nominated for Best Female Athlete with a Disability, and Raymond Martin has been nominated for Best Male Athlete with a Disability.

McFadden won three gold medals at the 2012 Paralympic Games in addition to winning the women’s wheelchair division of the Boston Marathon, AND won the London Marathon in the same division, six days later. Martin won four gold medals at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Truly remarkable achievements.

You can see all the categories over at the ESPY website, and click more categories to vote for McFadden and Martin for awards this year.
