Winemaking class at Sleepy Creek Vineyards

Our friends at Sleepy Creek Vineyards are holding a winemaking class Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 (plus $2.37 processessing fee). You can register here. That’s a sweet deal for all this information:

Learn how to make wine at a working winery!

Have you ever wanted to learn what it takes to make wine at home? Do you already make wine at home and want to learn more from a professional or how to do it on a bigger scale?

In this class you’ll learn the basics of home winemaking from Sleepy Creek Vineyards’ Director of Fermentation (AKA winemaker) Tony Jacobson. The class covers everything you’ll need to know to sucessfully make wine. So bring your questions, a notebook, and some enthusiasm for making your own wine at home.

Topics covered will include:

• How to process different types of fruit
• Successful fermentation tips
• Demystifying wine ingredients
• Learning common wine faults
• Fining and finishing wine
• Bottling and storage

The class will be held on Thursday April 10 at 6:30pm at Sleepy Creek Vineyards.

Price is $25 per person. Each attendee will get a descriptive handout covering some of the topics in the class to take home and reference.

Make it vacation and stay the night in our Bed and Wine (vacation rental).  Book online at www.sleepycreekvineyards.com/lodging.php or call the winery at (217) 733-0330

Minimum of 10 students must sign up for the class. If we don’t reach our minimum we will cancel the class and refund everyone’s money.  No refund will be given for cancellations or failure to attend, although tickets are transferable.
