Smile Politely

You could see a Christmas movie at the Virginia Theatre every night this week

This week is the theater’s yearly series: The Best Christmas Movies Ever, and each night will feature a different Christmas movie for your viewing pleasure. Now, I’m sure there could be much debate about what the best ones actually are — I wouldn’t necessarily choose all on this list — but there are some good ones nonetheless. This year seems to be focused on the oldies but goodies. All showings are at 7 p.m., with an added 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday, December 22nd.

Monday: The Bishop’s Wife (1947)

Tuesday: Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Wednesday: Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)- this one might be a stretch as a Christmas movie, but it’s pinch hitting for White Christmas, which was originally scheduled

Thursday: A Christmas Carol (1951)

Friday & Saturday: It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)
