EDITOR’S PICK: MAN MAN, LANDLADY
The Highdive ($15) — Saturday, August 9th at 7:15 p.m.

The Pygmalion Festival’s Summer Show Series rolls on after a few have come and gone throughout the past few months (Blitzen Trapper, Marissa Nadler, and more), and this one looks to be another solid show. You can check out Joel’s preview of the band when they were in town last year early on to prepare.

Their last record was called On Omni Pond, which came out last year on ANTI-, which is pretty awesome, and definitely worth a listen. They’re also joined by another interesting act in Landlady.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

WHAT: Lonely Trailer, Dog Brain, The Chemicals

WHERE: Mike ‘N Molly’s ($7)

WHEN: Saturday, August 9th at 9 p.m.

Longtime local rock outfit Lonely Trailer are (re-)releasing Secret Information Booth from 2012, but apparently they’re doing so with a proper release show at Mike ‘N Molly’st his week. Check out our profile on the band from last year to prepare, and stream the record as well.

WHAT: Thorr-Axe, Ode Vinter, Orator, Witchweed, Isle Nine Asylum

WHERE: The Canopy Club ($5)

WHEN: Saturday, August 9th at 9 p.m.

“Endless Summer Abyss, Part II” is taking place on Saturday night at the Canopy Club, featuring a Thorr-Axe/Ode Vinter battle set, plus a bunch of other metal/stoner metal outfits to fill the time as well. Should be intense, no doubt.
