This year’s Edible Book Fest will be a virtual Edible Book-off

The Edible Book Festival (which we’ve covered in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019) will look different this year. Last year, the event was postponed. This year, the event will be a virtual Edible Book-off on Saturday, April 3rd at 10:45 a.m. and welcome to all.

In the 2021 Edible Bake-off, community members will be competing in a decorating challenge. In the style of the Great British Bakeoff, participants will have one hour on Zoom to assemble and decorate their edible books. The event will have commentary by hosts and will include spolight interviews during the competition.

Think you want to try? You can. In order to compete, you must have access to the internet and a device with a camera. The event organizers encourage participants to do all the preparation needed (including baking the cake and making the frosting) prior to April 3rd, so the event will be one hour of active preparation of things like carving, assembling, and decorating the edible book. The judges will provide commentary and give awards at the end of the virtual event.
