Applications are open for Illinois Reboot, a free tech training program

University of Illinois Research Park is hosting Illinois Reboot, a free virtual course focused on data science, with the aim of encouraging the pursuit of tech careers in Central Illinois. From the press release:

“The 9-week program teaches participants about coding languages and programs, specifically UNIX, GitHub, SQL and Python. It also connects them with career counseling, and will network them with Central Illinois employers looking for qualified applicants for tech roles.

The program is open to residents of Central Illinois, including Champaign, Vermilion, Piatt, Macon, Ford, Douglas, Sangamon, Tazewell, McLean, Peoria, DeWitt, Woodford and other adjacent counties. Individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the tech sector, including (but not limited to) women, Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans, African Americans, and those with disabilities, are highly encouraged to apply.”

A new cohort will launch in February 2021, and applications will be accepted until January 13th.
