As the weather gets warmer, we are going to rely on the amazing outdoor spaces we have here in C-U, and I’m sure folks were already doing so earlier this week when we had some sun and mild temperatures.
While all of their facilities and buildings are closed, the Urbana Park District is keeping their parks and trails open for the community to use. Please practice your social distancing if you head out.
They have also posted signs closing playgrounds. I imagine as a parent of young ones it’s difficult to take the kiddos to the park and keep them off the playgrounds, but this seems like a super important directive. That’s a lot of surface area that gets touched by a lot of hands, and there’s no way kids can keep the social distancing concept going while climbing and swinging and such.
