A University of Illinois Professor of Architecture is now an AIA Fellow

Professor Randy Deutsch has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects’(AIA) prestigious College of Fellows. For those of us who might not be familiar with this honor or the architectural world in general, this is a pretty big deal. According to the press release, the AIA created this honor for those “who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.” Here are a few of his accomplishments:

“In addition to teaching at Illinois, Professor Deutsch is a licensed architect responsible for the design of over 100 large, complex sustainable projects. He has written for Architectural Record, Architect Magazine, and DesignIntelligence. His long list of academic and professional service includes the Chicago Architectural Club’s Board of Directors and the AIA Chicago Board as Director and Vice President. Deutsch is a professional thought and practice leader, international keynote speaker, and recipient of the AIA Young Architect Award – Chicago.”

Professor Deutsch will present “How AI, Automation and Autonomous Design Will Impact Your Firm” at the AIA Conference in Los Angeles in May.
