Polyvinyl Records is seeking two interns

For those who are interested in getting their foot in the door in the music industry, Champaign-Urbana’s very own Polyvinyl Records is a great place to start. Luckily, they also are offering internships in both digital marketing and promotions to give you a taste of how a successful indie label operates.

Polyvinyl is currently seeking internship applicants for two open positions at PVHQ in Champaign, IL – a Promotions Intern and Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern.

Positions closely follow the academic calendar and begin around August 22nd. Each internship is part-time (9-12 hour/week) and unpaid, however, credit may be available if your college approves.

Our ideal intern is:

*Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

*Detail oriented with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

*Self-motivated and goal-driven, solving challenges proactively; able to work well collaboratively as well as independently.

*Willing to learn while managing multiple tasks.

Promotions Intern

Organize and distribute marketing materials for several departments.

Promote & update tour dates on various platforms.

Fulfill Radio and Press file requests.

More specifically we are looking for a music-loving individual who desires to learn the inner workings of tour marketing from the label perspective. From show confirmation to promotions leading up to the gig, as well as what comes after, the right candidate will gain invaluable experience working with platforms such as Songkick, Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), Haulix, Nielsen SoundScan, atVenu and more.

Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern

Develop content & compile mentions across social networks for label and artists.

Research, compile statistics, and present new ideas for increasing engagement across socials.

Manage and update Spotify playlists.

This position will help our creative team promote the label’s profiles across various social channels and drive awareness for our artists. Applicants must be well versed in social media trends and open to learning online marketing strategies specific to a record label. We’re looking for a creative thinker with a positive attitude who’s interested in bringing ideas to table, while also being able to follow directions explicitly. Knowledge of photography, design, and video editing will get you major bonus points!
