U of I holding open casting call for PA announcers for Illini Athletics

Perhaps the next Public Address Announcer for U of I Athletics could be you? Per their website, they’ve opened things up to the public across Illini Athletic programs. 

Check out the information below. What I wouldn’t give to be able to hear some random submissions.

FIGHTING ILLINI INTRODUCE PUBLIC ADDRESS ANNOUNCER CASTING CALL

Deadline for Submission in Two Weeks on Aug. 3

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Interested in lending your voice to one of the Fighting Illini venues? The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics is hosting a Public Address Announcer Casting Call for all people interested in becoming a PA Announcer for any of the Fighting Illini sports programs. The deadline for submissions is Monday, Aug. 3, and all fans should submit an electronic audio file to [email protected] that contains the scripts located at the bottom of this page.

Candidates will be notified by Friday, Aug. 7 with the next steps for the process. Official interviews may be required along with an in-person try-out depending on the quality of the application.

“We are looking forward to adding to our talented roster of Public Address Announcers,” said Holly Stalcup, Assistant Director of Athletics for Event Management. “It is our goal to provide a tremendous experience for our fans at home games and this is definitely one piece of that puzzle.”
