Walk, Run or Roll to fight AIDS

22st Annual “AIDS Walk for Life—All Walks of Life”

1st AIDS Walk, Run, Roll

Saturday, October 9th 2010

9:00 am

Burwash Park, Savoy IL

Proceeds benefit the Greater Community AIDS Project

Illinois is the fifth largest state, but does not rank in the top five states for new HIV/AIDS infections.  This is in no small way due to the efforts of grassroots organization like the Greater Community AIDS Project.  GCAP cares for those living with HIV/AIDS right here in our community by making sure they have access to medicine, nutritious food, and decent housing.  It also provides educational resources to prevent new HIV infections in our community.  As you can imagine, these programs aren’t free and government funding has been slashed.

The Walk, Run Roll isn’t an athletic competition; it’s a fundraising competition to keep programs like these going in our community. Though we ask for a minimum donation of $20 from adults, $10 from those under 18 and those 6 and under are free— we need every dollar we can get.

The Walk will be held Saturday October 9th, 2010 starting from Burwash Park Savoy from 9-11am.  Registration begins promptly at 8:00am.  The event will take place rain or shine.

Burwash Park is located between US 45 (South Neil Street) & Prospect Avenue—behind the Savoy 16 theater.

For registration packages please visit our website—gcapnow.com; search for the Greater Community AIDS Project’s fan page on Facebook; or call/e-mail the office—217-351-2437, [email protected].
