In February, a fund dedicated to providing flexible risk capital to minority owned businesses was launched by Advantage Capital and the NMSDC Business Consortium Fund. Busey Bank is partnering as well, making capital contributions to the fund in order to support these businesses and help close the racial wealth gap.

From Willie Mayberry, Busey’s Executive Vice President and President of Regional Banking:

We are excited to be a part of this innovative investment initiative, furthering our efforts to deliver meaningful impact to minority-owned businesses and communities that have historically faced barriers to capital. This fund creates real opportunity by building an excellent ecosystem of institutional investors paired with a strong network of MBEs.

Did you know that August is Black Business Month? The Buy Black Chambana website is under construction at the moment, but be sure to follow them on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with what Black-owned businesses are doing in our community.
