Inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. and in preparation for Black History Month, Urbana Park District is creating a “dream quilt” to be displayed at Phillips Recreation Center throughout the month of February.

Community members of all ages are invited to create a paper quilt square that will then be “stitched” with other squares to create the quilt. You’re encouraged to draw, write, paint, color, or collage to express your dreams, hopes, or aspirations. You can download the template, or pick one up at any park district facility. They should be turned in to Phillips Recreation Center at 505 W Stoughton by January 27th, or sent to [email protected].
