It’s time to gather up those televisions, fax machines, ink and toner cartridges, old Nintendo consoles and more to safely recycle them. Registration is open for the spring residential electronics recycling event, and it’s best to get on it soon because those spots fill up quickly. Collection will happen at Parkland College on May 20th, and times slots are available from 8 to 11:45 a.m.

There are year-round options for a lot of the items on the list, but this is one of the few opportunities to recycle your TVs.

This biannual event is hosted by Champaign County, City of Champaign, City of Urbana, and Village of Savoy, and those who live in Bondville, Broadlands, Champaign, Fisher, Foosland, Gifford, Homer, Ivesdale, Longview, Ludlow, Mahomet, Ogden, Pesotum, Rantoul, Royal, Sadorus, Savoy, Sidney, St. Joseph, Thomasboro, Tolono, Urbana, and Unincorporated Champaign County can participate.

Be sure to read through the website to find all of the important details, including a list of what you can bring, and what you cannot. If you have questions, contact [email protected] or call City of Champaign (Nichole Millage) 217-403-4780 or City of Urbana (Courtney Kwong) 217-384-2302.
