Tomorrow is the 5th of May, the day the Mexican army’s defeated imperialist French forces in 1862. (No, it’s not Mexican Independence Day.)
To honor that, Maize and Smith Burger Co. have teamed up to create a “Hamburguesa Al Pastor:” double beef, pepper jack cheese, Maize’s al pastor (pork), guacamole salsa on a toasted brioche bun (love the use of a French bread here!).
Find the burger at Smith Burger Co.’s truck from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Advance Auto Parts on Vine Street in Urbana.
This is Smith Burger Co.’s second collab in just about as many weeks; did you catch the 4/20 glazed and confused burger served on a Ye Olde Donut? This collaboration is bound to be just as delicious.
