Help clean up Boneyard Creek on Saturday

Four people are near a creek, two are wearing orange t-shirts and two are wearing yellow safety vests. One is wading in the creek, holding a garbage bag.

This Saturday, April 9th, is Boneyard Creek Community Day, the annual event where volunteers are dispatched all over C-U to clean up sections of Boneyard Creek. Volunteers can sign up as individuals or as a group, and kids can join in if accompanied by an adult. You can select a preference for which site you’d like to work on: Scott Park, Kaufman Lake/Heritage Park, Anita Purves, Boneyard Creek Crossing, Savoy Rt 45, or U of I Campus. You’ll work from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., then enjoy free lunch at Scott Park.

The deadline to register online is April 6th, though you can register on site as well.

Find more information, including what to wear and and what to bring, at the Boneyard Creek Community Day website
