You can make origami cranes for a community art installation

Community members of all ages are invited to participate WA! A Project for Peace, a community art installation that will be on display during the Boneyard Arts Festival in April.

“Wa” is a Japanese concept that translates to “harmony and peace”, and cranes are a symbol that reflects those ideals. Anyone can create origami cranes, or color or write messages on printed pictures of cranes to be added to the installation in LIGHTBOX, the Neil Street facing window of Dixon Graphics Screen Printing (formerly Weiskamp).

Cranes can be dropped off through March 26th at these locations:

Art Coop, inc.
40 North 88 West
Dixon Graphics & Dixon Graphics Screen Printing (formerly Weiskamp)
Ippatsu Salon
Suzu’s Bakery
Stratton Academy of the Arts
Carrie Busey Elementary School
