Champaign-Urbana, it’s time to sign up for a CSA. What’s a CSA? CSA is community-supported agriculture in which individuals buy a whole season’s worth of goods from a local farm or business up front and receive a bounty each week (or month) of the season. If you want to learn more about CSA, check out The Land Connection’s helpful PSA on local CSA.

We have a great variety of Champaign-Urbana CSA share options including regular boxes of local produce, bacon, mushrooms, eggs, cakes, and more.

Fruits and Vegetables CSA

Since 1980, Brackett Farm has grown organic produce in C-U, and each year the farm produces tasty fruits and vegetables for Brackett Farm CSA members. The farm has a CSA brochure with the chronological order of produce one can expect. Shares cover over a 24-week season, and payment is due by the first pick up, but if needed, payment installation plans are available. Pick up is on Tuesday afternoons in Champaign. To sign up, print this contract and mail it to the farm with a check.

Hendrick House CSA sign up is open now. The farm offers two kinds of shares: ones for 4-5 people and one for 1-2 servings, with options for either every week or every-other week. The Hendrick House CSA includes a tour of the ten-acre farm and an Eat and Greet. Shares can be picked up on the weekends at The Hendrick House Farm or delivered on Friday mornings.

Sola Gratia Farm grows over fifty different crops in Urbana. The farm’s CSA has both summer (20 weeks) and the fall (4 weeks) options with both pick up and delivery. Members can add-on a bread share from Rick’s Bakery and or a Flyway Family Farm mushroom share. Sola Gratia Farm CSA shares sell out each year, so if you want to receive weekly produce from the Urbana farm, sign up soon.

Salted Spade is a Mahomet farm that offers 14-16 week shares over the summer. Pick up is on Monday afternoons at the farm in Mahomet. Sign up here.

Email the farm to sign up.

If you want milk or egg shares, check out the CSA at Joy of Illinois. As of this morning, the Champaign farm has seven egg shares still available. Joy of Illinois’ eggs will start this weekend and go for 38 weeks until mid-November. A full share of eggs is 12-18 eggs per week, and a half share is six to nine eggs.
