On Saturday, April 27, The Virginia Theatre will host the 24th annual Clements Comedy Cafe. On today’s episode, we speak with Tony Clements and Champaign Park District Marketing & Development Director Laura Auteberry about this year’s event and how it all got started. The Clements Comedy Café is a two-hour night of humor and music featuring the comedy of Tony Clements, a 25-year veteran of the entertainment business, and music from the Tons O’ Fun Band. We talk to Clements about the show, how he got his start in comedy, and his approach to his live show.
We also discuss the newly refurbished Virginia Theater with Laura. The Theatre just reopened two weeks ago and recently hosted Roger Ebert’s Film Festival. Plus, we take an early look at some of the events the park district has planned this summer.
