In this episode, we are joined by Ana Vieira of Friends Against Children’s Empty Tummies (FACET) and Andrea Rundell, Director of Programming for the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. We discuss hunger in our region and how these organizations can work with limited resources to provide food for families in need, and especially children. September is Hunger Action Month, so we talk about the activities we can all do to help. In particular, we’ll talk about FACET’s upcoming fundraising events this week on Thursday at Indigo and on Saturdayat Urbana’s Market at the Square. Finally, we discuss how to keep energized and moving forward in the face of growing need.
