Another Joan of Arc/Make Believe side project stops at Mike ‘N Molly’s this week after Birthmark played a few weeks back. Bobby Burg is the man behind the name and his indie rock project will do just fine out in the beer garden. Better get out there and enjoy it while the weather is still cooperating.

Piano legend Ahmad Jamal makes a stop into Krannert’s theater this weekend. WHAT: Henhouse Prowlers

WHERE: The Iron Post ($8)

WHEN: Saturday, September 15th at 9 p.m.

Bluegrass crew Henhouse Prowlers bring their new lineup and new songs to the Iron Post later this week. It looks like they have a bunch of dates lined up at local breweries/bars in the cities they stop in, which isn’t a bad idea for the sound these guys have.

EDITOR’S PICK: INDIGO SUN, BILLA CAMP, THE FOUNDATION, JAY MOSES, HAZY

The Highdive ($5) — Saturday, September 15th at 10 p.m.

Harshpro is at it again with another installment of the summer mix-up series shows. This time it’s with Chicago’s Indigo Sun, mixed with some hip-hop acts with local staple Jay Moses and others. They really do mix it up at these things, so this one is for you if are down with everything.

Indigo Sun meshes a bunch of genres together, making this even more of a mix-up than it appears. This lineup, plus the effects from Harshpro, makes this a must this weekend.
