The Rekkid Store Report:  Nov. 10

Sooooo…  Tell us about your new releases.

pixiesIncoming!  New albums from Parasol pals the Orange Peels, Little Girls, Asobi Seksu, Bibio, Holopaw, Pant Yell!, former Buffalo Grant Lee Phillips, Bad Lieutenant (New Order dude), For Against, an intriguing soundtrack release from the Notwist, the latest lo-fi electro-folk from Bill Baird’s {{{Sunset}}}, a live CD & double-DVD set from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, that redonkulous Pixies ‘Minotaur’ boxset, a new album from Echo & the Bunnymen, a slew of House of Love and King Crimson expanded reissues… All in all a nice harvest considering it’s the middle of November!

And somehow we’ve got a buncha extra Beatles ‘Mono’ boxsets. Locals get a deal on this, just sayin’.

Wax On: LPs by Oneohtrix Point Never, Simon Scott (Slowdive guy), Coke Bust, Radian, Mittens On Strings and Neon Indian; a DLP from Apse; the long-delayed Pains of Being Pure At Heart remix and a Bauhuas reissue, both on 12″ vinyl; 45s by Melt Banana, Anasazis, Mike Watt, YACHT and City Center… Supposedly our allotment of the Washed Out 12″ have shipped from Mexican Summer, don’t sleep on Washed Out! You were warned.

Rocking Our World: The Jason Molina & Will Johnson collaboration, a couple of those sorta recent Replacement reissues and us finding the fix for our late-90s electro-pop and local proto-grunge joneses in multiple doses of Laptop and Lovecup, respectively.

Lovecup’s Greefus Gronks and Sheet, The Best Rock Record from the C-U Scene? Discuss…
