A love letter to the French toast at Sam’s Cafe

Dear French toast at Sam’s Cafe,

I love you. I’m not really a breakfast person — I’m more of a cold-brew-counts-as-breakfast person — but when I want French toast, I want you. You’re no regular French toast. Soft cinnamon-y slices have a patch of powdered sugar on top, and paired with batter crisped up on the griddle, you are serving funnel cake vibes, and I just love it.

The diner’s full order of Gus’ French toast ($8.40) comes with two decadent toasts, but there’s a half order with a single French toast for $4.90. Dine in for breakfast or lunch, or call to order takeout.

Read Carl’s review of Sam’s Cafe here, and remember: the diner is cash only, so bring dollar bills.
