A new art exhibition is coming to Bloc Gallery

Multimedia artwork with a white paper overlapping to create the background with purple three dimensional pieces scattered about. In the center is a square photograph sewn onto the background. The photo is of a naked person in child's pose surrounded by more of the same purple crumpled papers including a line of them down the person's back as they are on the ground with their face to the ground and arms extended in front.

University of Illinois student artists will have their works displayed in a new exhibition at the Bloc Gallery entitled Conception to Completion. The exhibition is the work of students in the ARTE 475 class, under the guidance of Professor Somi Lee. The artists will “navigate their roles as curators, emphasizing the significance of both the creative process and the outcome. This collaborative effort with UIUC student artists extends beyond traditional displays, inviting the public to explore the intricate journey of ideation and creation alongside the completed works.”

Bloc Gallery is located within the Art and Design Building on the U of I Campus, and the exhibition will be available for viewing from November 28th through the 30th.

The ARTE 475 class also worked on the exhibition Those who Teach, CAN. You can learn more by following the group on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok.
