Back in October, we noted that The Cookie Jar building at 712 S. Sixth Street was undergoing some changes. While we initially though it was being demolished, it was in fact just being remodeled. Now, a new business has moved in. Hailey’s is a smoke shop run by Hailey Alessandra, a senior in LAS. Alessandra was recently featured in The Daily Illini, and said “my goal here is to break the stigma of ugly, bad stereotypes of smokers — especially girls.” She wants it to be a welcoming and safe space.
According to the article, the shop sells vape cartridges, Delta-8 THC cartridges, bongs, grinders and bowls, and other accessories.
