Alma is ready for Native American History Month

The Alma Mater statue stands with arms outstretched wearing a traditional robe in light blue, dark blues, and white colored stripes. There is also a large orange I decorated in white and dark blue stripes . There is a big blue sky above.

The Alma Mater and Native American House are celebrating the myriad traditions, languages, and stories of Native American, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and affiliated Island communities for Native American Heritage Month. Throughout November, Native American House will lead programming that “centers on Honoring the Sovereignty and Self-Determination of Native Student Higher Education Communities.” They will also collaborate with Campus Dining Services to create two more harvest dinners to celebrate the month. Celebrating these traditions, languages, and stories allow them to continue to thrive through the generations.
