Art Theater’s special screening of In Jackson Heights December 14th

The Art Theater’s anticipated screening of In Jackson Heights is set for Monday, Dec. 14th at 7 p.m. The second scheduled benefit for Members  was originally slated for last Monday but it was delayed due to shipping issues that have affected the entire independent cinema industry. Happily, the Art made good by offering free entry to members for another film in the same time slot last Monday and the screening being held tomorrow.

In Jackson Heights is the latest release by virtuoso documentarian Frederick Wiseman, internationally recognized and multiply-awarded filmmaker of National GalleryAt Berkeley, and Domestic Violence, among others. This time, he turns his lens to the culturally-diverse neighborhood in Queens, which may actually hold the widest cross-section of people in the world. Studying the lives of these neighbors intersecting throughout the years over the course of three hours, the film has been called “one of the most important American films of the year.”

This unique opportunity will be afforded on a first-come, first-serve basis to people who have purchased a Membership, and their plus-ones. Non-members are welcome to see if there are remaining seats before the show begins, and can pay the regular ticket price of $10.
