Step into a realm where young musical aspirations take flight at the Kids’ Open Mic event at Community Center 4 the Arts in Urbana. Hosted in the C4A Front Room, this unique gathering invites children from grade school to high school to step onto the stage and showcase their musical talents. Whether it’s belting out pop tunes, playing classical pieces, or rocking the room with energetic beats, the platform is open to a myriad of musical genres. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments, though a baby grand piano and a professional quality keyboard are provided for those in need. The event promises a collaborative spirit, with faculty hosts Peter Tijerina and Johnny Lusardi ready to accompany the young performers on piano or guitar, adding a supportive and harmonious touch to the solos.

The door opens the gateway to the stage with a simple sign-up process, ensuring every willing participant gets their moment under the spotlight. There is a brief intermission allows for a light refreshment break, reenergizing both the performers and the audience for the second act.
