Carle College of Medicine students share their vaccine experiences

Medical students in the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine are some of the first in our community to have received both doses of the COVID vaccine, and a few of them have shared their perspectives on the College of Medicine website

Jack Lowe, second-year student and Type-1 diabetic:

“I want to share my experience with the vaccine – if there were any adverse effects to my blood sugar, etc. Spoiler alert: there haven’t been any changes.”

Anders Gould, first-year student:

“I chose to forgo travel during both fall and winter breaks to lower the risk of contracting and spreading the virus. So, with the vaccine, I hope to visit my family sooner rather than later.”

Anant Naik, third-year student who saw COVID patients during his surgical rotation:

“I was inspired by the many stories of healthcare providers and frontline workers taking ownership and stepping into the roles of emotional support.”

You can read more about their experiences here.
