Serving a menu of Mexican cuisine, the new Casa Margaritas opened yesterday at The Crossing in the space where The Black Bull restaurant was. Since margaritas is in the name, I ordered the restaurant’s watermelon margarita ($5.50) on the rocks. First off, it looked pretty, and secondly, it was delicious. Casa Margaritas’ watermelon marg tasted fresh and sweet, fruity without any tequila flavor, so it was very easy to sip. Besides watermelon, there are other flavors of margarita, too: lime, strawberry, peach, mango, and raspberry.
For lunch, I ordered the speedy Gonzales ($7.99), which was one taco, an enchilada, and rice. I had an al pastor taco, and the pork was chopped small and smoky with chunks of charred pineapple. It was a good taco, and I loved how much cilantro they put on it.
Because the enchiladas here have a choice of protein and choice of sauce (red or cheese), I picked chicken and cheese, respectively. The enchilada was cheese overload with grated white cheese on top plus a flood of queso. Inside the soft, cheesy tortilla, the shredded chicken was great, not plain at all, because red pepper, corn, and tomato added flavor to the filling.
The dining room was spacious with high-back booths along the sides and long tables for ten in the center. The food was quite affordable, the service was great, and my food came out quick, so this is definitely a fun, new spot for tasty Mexican food.
