Come celebrate the diversity, yet commonality that brings Champaign-Urbana’s Asian Pacific American (APA) campus & community together at our first EVER APA Heritage Month Celebration!

Experience the sights and sounds of traditional and modern performance, put your artistic skills to test through interactive crafts and calligraphy, and learn more about the many different groups
that make up the rich culture of C-U’s APA population through educational booths!

Performances will feature a diverse display from the APA community

  • Hmong Qeej performance
  • Spoken word from APAC student John Kim
  • Korean drumming from GarakMadang
  • South Asian dance from Ghungroo Dance Company
  • Poetry and dance from Chinese Heritage Association
  • A capella from Hindi-English group Chai-Town
  • Martial arts demonstrations from HMD Academy
  • Step dance from Asian American fraternity Lambda Phi Epsilon, and more!

All attendees can also learn how to do authentic calligraphy, fold their own origami, or create a paper lantern!
