Champaign Center Partnership is hosting Campustown Pub Crawl next week

Next Thursday, July 16th, Champaign Center Partnership is hosting a mini-pub crawl next week in Campustown. This is a pretty great idea to get non-students to check out bars that they normally might not stop in to. The three stops on the tour are Legends, Murphy’s, and Firehaus and afterwards there’s a musical performance on the corner of Sixth and John.

Registration for the event can be found here.

From the release:

Pub Tour tickets are $20 a person and include one drink at each pub location as well as a full meal at the location of your choice. Proceeds from the ticket sales go to support 13 Thursdays entertainment.

The mini-tour begins at Legends at 5:30 where participants will check in and receive their drink and food tickets. From there the tour moves on to Murphy’s and then wraps up around 7:30 p.m. at Firehaus. Participants must be 21 or over to participate and must bring identification.

The tour culminates with a free performance of the local band, Riders of the Golden Maize, at the corner of Sixth and John Streets; just a few steps down from Firehaus.

“We want the pub tour participants to stay in Campustown after the tour to have dinner or shop so we’re giving everyone another excellent reason to stay and hang out,” Lippitz said. “We’ve seen Riders of the Golden Maize perform numerous times in Downtown and loved their energy and we’re thrilled they’re performing in Campustown for our event ,” Lippitz said.
