The Leonhard Recreation Center will reopen August 24th. The building will have reduced hours, and members can sign up for an hour-long use of the weight room and walking track. Everyone must be masked at all times.
Per an email sent last Friday:
Because of COVID-19, Leonhard will have hour-long blocks of time that you can reserve in our online scheduling software to come in and use the walking track or the weight room. Registration through your online Champaign Park District account will be available a week before the date you are reserving.
Example: You can register for August 24th starting August 18th, but cannot register for August 28th until August 22nd.
The machines in the weight room have all been placed at least 6 feet apart to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
At this time, Open Gym and the Indoor Playground will not be available for use.
Facility Notes
- Members must wear masks at all times while in the building, including working out in the weight room, walking on the track, and during group fitness classes.
- Staff will be wearing masks at all time while in the facility.
- When members check in, they agree to our posted self-assessment signage.
- The lockers in the locker rooms will be closed and the locker rooms will just be utilized as restrooms.
- Members must clean each machine using the available gym wipes after each use.
- Staff will be cleaning according to CDC guidelines.
August 24-September 18, Leonhard will be open these reduced hours:
Mondays: 8 AM – 430 PM
Tuesdays: 8 AM – 9 PM
Wednesdays: 8 AM – 430 PM
Thursdays: 8 AM – 9 PM
Fridays: 8 AM – 430 PM
Saturdays: Closed
Sundays: Closed
