While there are no specific dates yet for work to begin, you can look at and read about planned improvements for Altgeld Hall and plans for a brand new Illini Hall. Demolition of Illini Hall, which is site that plans for an Illinois Homecoming celebration were first hatched, is set to happen before the end of the year, followed by construction of a brand new building that will house a new data science center, as well as space for the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics.
Altgeld will get extensive renovations that will modernize the space with a new lounge, library, and research space, while also restoring some of the historic elements in the library.
