A student group from Carle Illinois College of Medicine, Campaña de Salud, is hosting a health fair on October 28th at the Martens Center. It will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is meant to bring together a host of local health and service agencies together to reach people who may not have adequate access to healthcare, particularly those in Spanish-speaking communities.
The group is partnering with University of Illinois Extension for nutrition education, C-U Public Health District for vaccinations, and Avicenna Health Clinic for basic screenings such as blood pressure and cholesterol.
Campaña de Salud will also be making it a Dia de los Muertos celebration, with food, face painting, and candy.
You can read more about the group’s efforts at the Carle Illinois website.
