City of Urbana earns $71,000 grant via Illinois Housing Development Authority

Urbana has been awarded a $71,000 grant by the Illinois Housing Development Authority, to demolish abandoned homes and maintatin clear lots. 

The Illinois Housing Development Authority is a self-supporting state agency that finances the creation and preservation of affordable housing across Illinois. The funding comes from the Abandoned Residential Municipality Relief Program. 

Urbana was one of 67 Illinois cities to receive the grant.
